These trucks are manually controlled from an operators platform area which has a seat. From this seat, the operator has access to the steering device and the forks control for elevating, declining and forward or reverse.
Trucks
Trucks for rough terrain are generally human-controlled.
The main functions of these trucks are:
Load and Unload flat-bed trailers
To stack and unstuck palletized loads
Deposit and withdraw product from storage racks
Transport products between workstations
Trucks wheelbase, underclearance, wheel types, tires (pneumatic type), counterbalance weight, and vehicle weight permit it to operate safely and effectively over coarse, slippery and soft surfaces.
Majority of trucks have diesel engines. Due to wind forces, the storage of unit loads outdoor is limited to an approximately 20-ft high stack. This stacking height improves inventory control, security and storage density.
